Indonesia worlds largest Yacht Charter Destinations

Indonesia is the world’s largest archipelago, straddling the equator with over 17,000 islands and 80,000 km of coastline to explore. Many of the islands are remote and uninhabited and have an amazing variety of volcanic scenery, marine life, vibrant cultures, and sailing & diving adventures to be experienced, making this one of the most exclusive getaway luxury yacht charter destinations.

Bali is by far the most popular tourist destination in the country, due to the night life, beaches and surfing. The areas of Kuta and Legian, Seminyak and Canngu have a well-developed tourist infrastructure and have been tourist hotspot for many decades now. The rugged coastlines and volcanic interior of the island provide a picturesque backdrop for your trip if Bali is where you choose to be, and there are some superb local dive sites to explore as well. Bali is also one of the world’s top surfing destinations. From Bali, day trips visit the beautiful islands of Nusa Lembongan and Penida where there is some spectacular snorkeling at places like Crystal Bay and Toyapakeh.

Sailing east from Bali, and into the Lombok Straits, you pass the imaginary ‘Wallace Line’, where the natural habitat changes from that of subtropical Asia to that of Australasia. For an overnight trip it is possible to visit the Gili Islands (Northern Gili’s) and the Gili Gede area (Southern Gili’s) which is sometimes reffered to as the Secret Gili’s.

People can fly into Jakarta or Bali, and then take another domestic flight to Komodo or Raja Ampat for and even more amazing sailing experience. Komodo Liveboards is one of the most beautiful places on Earth to sail and is classified as one of the ‘7 natural wonders of the world’. Known for its scuba diving there is stunning scenery and some truly spectacular marine life environments. There are many liveaboard dive boats here offering dive trips– this is the land of the large Phinisi! This is where most of the Indonesian charter yachts are based most of the year, following the good weather. This means that the yachts can offer all year round sailing charters because of the drier conditions in this part of the country. Winds are moderate and generally predictable, with monsoons usually blowing in from the South and East in June through September and from the Northwest in December through March.
